In case someone is interested...2 vintage Mac SP125's on Ebay right now

That one with the silver could be a 101b engine. I think it is worth the price really and you could make a runner out of 2 of them.

 

*sigh* Thing is I have one that I got last April - a little tinkering,very good used full wrap handlebar,NOS recoil starter spring,NOS vintage General late '60's .404 rollernose bar & new chain,matching outside massive "hadstone" falling spike,a good cleaning & a new paint job -that's perfect now.Total cost was $645 counting what saw cost.That ended up being about $150 over what I set my budget at...

Really hate to spend that much on 3 saws,would rather look for a model that I don't already have - $3-400 is about all I can swing right now,have tax refunds in a few days but other places for most of it obviously.

They sold Monday morning.Wasn't me either.I don't want/need another of a model I have already.But am interested in a model I don't have,either decent running with cosmetic issues or a another project that's not a complete basket case.Same Seller has quite a few parts for sale listed also.

 

$338. Man that's a lot of cash for an older saw. But, if you are into that stuff, that is what it is all about. Hope you find that saw you are looking for thistle!

 

Just grabbed this 80cc powerhouse - 1-50 Mac made from May 1959 to May 1960.Decent shape,needs some tinkering but is complete.Most all original paint & original engraved 20" hardnose bar & fullwrap handlebar looks good too. Same Seller I bought the big old 740 99cc project with monster compression from a while back.....

Still looking for one of their early-late '60's decent 99 or 103cc gear drive beasts at a fair price in the next few weeks,then I'm done for a while.

 

Here's another one from that Seller in Redding CA.They still have a few parts left - fuel tanks,starter housings,air filter covers & other miscellaneous stuff.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-McC...278274021?pt=US_Chainsaws&hash=item417d7dd9e5 Price is a bit steep IMO,even with Free shipping which would be $40-50 to my region.That popular CP directional muffler is pretty cool though - has a ''hose clamp'' type fitting,loosen that screw & the muffler can be rotated 360 degrees in any direction to either blow the chips down/away or keep your hands warm during extra cold winter use.

Same muffler was used on several models from the early '60's to the early '70's including the CP125 1969-71..My old unfinished 740 has one.They show up on feebay & elsewhere occasionally.

 

I just so happen to have a SP125C I would like to trade off.
