The reason you enjoy 1 pull starts on a well-stored blower is the carburetors are "allowed" to be grossly generous with the fuel at startup. Anybody who has worked on one of these Tecumseh carbs knows there's not much to them. No accelerator pumps, power valves, intermediate circuits, booster jets; nada. A main and an idle circuit (with transition ports), simple, often adjustable, jets in each. These things also rely somewhat on being undersize in relation to the engine displacement to prevent them from being very finicky to adjust for good running characteristics. The primers are just the bowl vents plumbed to the plastic primer bulb that has a selective vent installed. (aka: a hole in the face of the primer bulb.... :)) Cover the vent hole with your thumb and press the bulb, it pushes a squirt of fuel up into the intake tract where it forms a literal puddle in the intake tract. The carb is located lower than the intake valve/port so it's impossible to flood (almost like it was intentional... :sherlock:) but provides plenty of "splash fueling" to get the engine running long enough for the exhaust to start warming up and provide warmer intake air for good atomization.

If you have a lighting coil - there will be a single wire hanging out the right side of the engine connected to nothing. It will output AC current and is designed to run a 25-30W incandescent light. To use it with an LED, you at the very least need a rectifier setup, which is cheap to do.

If you don't have that wire hanging, you can find the parts, although it usually involves a different flywheel in addition to the coil itself. Bike lights (intended for bicycle use) work pretty well as they usually run for hours and are a self-contained solution. Just charge it up once in awhile.
