2019-20 wood is in the stacks.

All my allotted storage areas are full. (There is only sooo much yard area my hobby is allowed)

Saws are drained, cleaned, & oiled.

    Chains are all touched up.

Splitter is cleaned-up, oil is changed, and it's tucked away.

Cleaned the bed of the truck & put the cover back on.

I'm done. Now watch some storm come through and dump a ton of wood I wouldn't be able to resist...

Can you conceive a stacking/storage system that will allow ^ than 4' tall cords KaptJaq?
Because you know more wood will be staring you down sooner than later!

The majority of my stacks are between 6' & 7' tall and 10' long. I target 20" lengths but the stove can handle up to 22" and the most of the splits are 18" to 22".

The three stacks under my deck are 7.5' high & 20' long. They are supported by the deck posts. My best guesstimate is that I have just shy of 20 cords stacked right now. As the wood dries I loose about 8"-10" of height on the stacks but that still come out to about 18 cords.

I burn between 4 and 5 cords a year so I've exceeded the 3 year plan.

All that said, if a storm blows through, or the road crews call, or somebody calls and says that they have some wood I'll go and at least look. I've earned the right to be picky but am still a hoarder at heart... (there are some areas on the property, behind the stacks, where she never goes and I can hide a few (dozen) big rounds.)

Just keep hiding them! It's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission!
