    We just switched our 30 year old DE filter for a sand one. Maybe going to salt is next on the list.
    I bought a bunch of chlorine tabs on sale last fall, but I'll check and see if I have enough to last through the summer. Thanks for the heads up!

    Here are a couple links for converting to salt system. We have one on our 18'x54" pool also. We have tried all the different systems, started out years ago with the Baqacil, got mustard algae that system wouldn't kill, changed over to a traditional system, ran that a few years and now have a salt system. I like it...it generates chlorine gas in the chamber, sanitizes the water in a couple feet, water stays clear all summer. Feels better on my skin and eyes. We have bought 1 replacement cell for it.
    Once you get the salt level established, very little salt has to be added, unless you loose a good bit and have to add fresh water.
