Trying to build up the ambition to replace the router! The old one has seemed a little wonky. It says it is pretty much a matter of plug and play? Seems like the last one I did I had to enter a bunch of info. Any tips? Gary
Just replace it. Get into the configuration page and set up a password for client devices to hook up and it should work. Let us know what you get so we can give more detailed info, if you need it. It's not too difficult. Are your devices wireless G, N, or AC?
I replaced mine last weekend. Just use the setup guide that came with it. One problem I had was it wanting my internet provider's username. They actually wanted the entire email address but I just entered my username so I had no internet until I figured that out. I went from an old D-link to a new D-link. Edit: Jeez that's a lot of "I's". Reminds me of someone who's out of work soon.
The quick set up instructions are usually pretty good and do the job. Some provide their own password (make sure you copy/paste it into a file for later use if needed!)
Well I am back!! Opened the quick start guide, read a couple of pages and promptly fell asleep! Will try again tonight. Gotta go play with the fishes Gary
Hopefully yours is better than mine... I couldn't figure it out.. Call the tech line... She couldn't figured it out either... Almost gave up, and told me to contact my internet provider... Well, I told her that I'd be returning her product in the same route... So she went back door route and did something.... and 1 1/2 hours later on the phone I had the router hooked up.....
