I've actually had a few neighborhood men; while walking their little yappie dogs down my street when I'm in Fiskars mode splitting wood, tell me that I'm making all the neighborhood men look bad in their wives eyes!!!!!!

I'm just working out I tell them. "Isn't just easier to just pay for the natural gas?" they ask. I say, "Sure it is. But would you like to see my natural gas bills for the last 5 Winters?" With that, they usually start walking again. And these are guys that are 10-25 years my junior that have no desire to sweat/work/reap rewards of labor etc. Most of them can be considered obese also.

It's all fun and games to make fun of a certain generation lumping everyone born a certain year into it.............
That's my point......Not fun eh? Looks like the melinials have thicker skin than you do.
I feel no need to try and inflate myself Infront of anybody to make a point. I will however try and show the hypocrisy.

I do disagree with the double yolk, people we sell eggs to think it's pretty cool. You can usually tell just by the size of it's a double either way.

I am sure that people that are trying to find "organic" for its own sake may well accept a double yolk pullet egg but they are going to be in the minority. If you try to sell through a grocery store you will soon lose customers if you include double yolk eggs in what you supply to them. If you are not trying to sell to the general public, you may well find folks who think a double yolk is a fun thing to find. I know we always thought it was kind of cool but we knew exactly where the eggs came from and that the pullet eggs were very unpredictable. It was sort of a fun way to figure out that the pullets were not yet ready to be selling their eggs to the general public but we got what nobody else would ever see.

Thick skinned millennials? OK. maybe a few of them are but I doubt that thick skin has anything to do with what I posted. I was trying to give a bit of perspective on the fact that all generations will be the result of whatever their parents allow them to experience. For many younger people out there the exposure they are getting to the real world is very restricted and they are coddled. It is not their fault at all. It fits right in with the present attitude that everyone must be protected from almost everything. Why do you get a warning label on a cup of coffee from McDonalds that says that hot coffee may burn you? Isn't that obvious? You get it because of the widespread attitude that everyone must be protected from everything. How about a label on a gas can that says that gasoline is flammable? Really? Who would have thought? Keep your hands away from moving parts on a mower? You bet but why do I need the label? If you are going to buy into the present bias toward labels to prevent natural selection processes then maybe the cotton we wrap our kids in makes sense. I just don't buy it. I would rather face my Darwin moments using my own sense. I am not at all sensitive to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune but that does not mean I don't care what happens to the next generation. They deserve to be exposed to learning opportunities.

Sometimes saying "wish I had time to tell you all of the toys I've bought myself with the gas bill money" shuts them up.
As far as the yappie dog saying "are you using that as bait to catch a real dog ?" Well, that has an affect also.......
Then asking to see a picture of their wife..............

You HAVE to do all this protection because people sue and win for anything. I saw a desk stapler at a hospital with a sticker showing a finger with a arrow and a X through it.

Classic!!! Everybody wants the easy way out. No wonder so many folks have health problems. Good work, good sleep and good food will cure a lot of health problems.

I remember my first real paying job. Almost. It was a construction job. Was given the wrong directions to the site. When I finally got there I was fired. I could hear
them now "Dummy cant get to work on time, dont bother to show up". Well that generation thought I was a slacker. And you know what??? They were right!!!!! I should have verified the directions. I learned a valuable lesson. There are no guarantees. So next time double check. But it all worked out, found a job the next day. The 70's were tough but Ill bet the 60's were tougher as so on.

    When I was a boy.....
    Nevermind.
What I did for fun when I was a boy would land one in jail, or the looney bin, or both.
    It was a different world.
Just as it was when my dad was a boy.

Well I aint sure but the video was kinda funny at the very start of this post. But whats even funnier is how quick some folks can get their feelers hurt over sumpthin that is just plain nuthin. Must be spring fever or the likes. To me it dont matter what age you are as long as you live and act like a human being. I dont think that is to much to ask is it? Color or origin of mfg. shouldnt matter either but it does if folks act like idiots. If any one wants to get all pizzed over nuthin I can get to it cuz I been at it along time. When your brothers from different mothers start disapperin or going away to a federal holding locker for 25 years and the idiots are walkin and talkin and breathing free air, now thats sumpthin to get all bunched up about. But then, I am typin this with 2 fingers, I raise chickens and like double yoke eggs and refuse to trim my beard no matter what any one tells me.

Their wives are already spying me, based on their comment that I'm making them "look bad" in their wives eyes.

I am a boomer, and raised 3 millenials. I teach millenials, college age. I am hopeful about them, the kids I teach are good, and work hard. They think a bit differently than I do at times, but I think differently than I do sometimes as well!

Remember, each generation is "bad" in the eyes of the preceding generation. Always has been, always will be.

The only bad thing about gen x'ers is that we're more broke than boomers or even gen y'ers. There's a reason for that, and it isn't Nirvana, Pearl jam, Soundgarden, or the red hot chili peppers.

Then again we actually own homes and don't live in the parent's basements .:D

It's a good thing I don't have kids. I'd have even less disposable income. It's also good that my parents, boomers, have enough money to take care of themselves, in their mid 70's. I can help them in many ways, just not monetarily.
