Hey, recieved a new quote tonight, the gal told me to put in an online request per her @ less than $200. I do not have a confirmation yet (assume because it was after hours out east), but we are crossing our fingers!

I can't help but giggle every time I see these trucks. (Sorry for the brief thread derailment.)

Well... it turns out when I called Fastenal and got the $600 quote in Maine, it was because they didn't have an outdoor forklift so they basically just turned me away. WW started the process from out there and got it done... $175. Way to go! Went out this afternoon. About 1/3 of what the others charged.

    Dear FHC friends,

BIG THANK YOU for all the great suggestions. The winch is on its way to Wyoming :) Also, hat's off to those that suggested/endorsed fastenal, best price and Stinny reported a good experience dropping it off.

I need to thank Greenstick too, apparently Fastenal is using the strategy you mentioned.

    Meanwhile,

So am I TD. A "good deal" on that winch can sure get whittled down pretty fast if you have to take out a small loan to get it there. WW did a great job. She was all over it...

To-WW- I checked with my BIL, - trucker- he wasn't in that area but he would have taken care of things, had he been there.
Poor timing. Next time, he's OK with that.

It made sense at the time though, all our quotes were pricey.

That must have been that thomas1 character. He was the first guy that clued me in to Fastenal as a means of safe, secure, and inexpensive shipping.

I know I am late to the thread but try running an ad on Craigslist in the town you want it shipped from. You never know there might be someone heading your way who wants to pick up a hundred or so for fuel.
