Ideal Steel - Stovetop temperature when engaging the catalyst?

    The cat probe hole is on the left side (looking from the front) of your stove. There is a small screw in the hole. I saw it on my friends.

    If your using the magnetic temperature gauge from Woodstock, my experience is when the stovetop reaches 350 degrees it's a good time to engage the cat. I place mine a couple inches away from the flue at the hotter area of the stovetop.

    I made this video to show how I settle into a cat burn. At the time the cat probe was 500, the stove top was reading 250. It was proportional.

    Do you turn down based on time, temp, or look of fire? I noticed you turned it down roughly every 2 minutes, then 1 min at the end. Not sure if you did that intentionally or not.
