Yup, same here if not a bit worse. I went in to work this morning, suppose to start a small job at the Ethanol plant today. I moved the equipment in Friday so we wouldn't have to put the lowboys on the road in case it was as bad as they were predicting. Even brought in a load of sand, will need it anyway. I drove 30 miles in no problem. Plant safety manager wouldn't issue me a work permit, not safe to work. Digging a hole. So went home around noon. Put the tooth bucket on the skidloader and scarified the yard. It was so icy the pregnant does couldn't make up a little slope back into the barn. Scuffed it up and put a little sand down for them. Figured if I didn't probably have baby goats under the hay bunk outside. I'll be surprised if a couple don't kid tonight, they usually do on nights like tonight.
Dumont huh? I had driven through there a bunch over the years. Still get to Hampton on a semi-regular basis.
That was something the next a.m. I watched the sun come up and start melting the ice. It looked like rain under every tree!
Thankfully, it's Supposed to warm up today. Lots of rain and sleet the last two days. This is looking out front this morning. It was a pond yesterday. The ground is froze so water is just standing and made a nice ice rink Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was supposed to head to the big city this morning. Called and cancelled it. I couldn't even walk to the garage. Terrible out there. The county quickly got right onto it though. They came by around 2:00 this afternoon to spread some sand. Trouble is, they ran out of sand.... I did get out to spread sand. Just drew a path to the barn and also to my wife's barn so she could get there to feed birds and deer. We already have one deer that apparently fell on the ice and one front leg is just flopping all over. Feel for her but can't help. It is not as warm as expected but at least it is thawing a little bit.
