Midwinter I was going to offer to ride over and split that pile for beer. But then I did the math and figured out that it will save you a lot of $$$ to have that kid do it for you. :)

It is, but I don't want to make a full time job out of it.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll keep things simple for now. Once I get the big pile split, I can keep up with what I collect.

IMHO if a kid with a splitter can't get that pile split in under a day once it is cut to stove length he should be evaluated for Chinese Rheumatism.

For those of you that don't know what that is, Chinese Rheumatism is a difficult to treat condition that affects millions around the globe. It causes the iron in ones blood to turn into lead in your azz. Tragic really.

I was gonna call you when I was going to do some splitting. I wasn't planning on doing any today, but my wife wanted the wood out of the dooryard and 2 of my sons we here so we split and stacked three cords today. That's all I have cut up for now, time to go back to sawing. Also, my neighbor has a few trees down and said if I split them up with him, he'll give me half the wood. Good deal.

Just for pricing ideas Craigslist in MA southshore has and ad for 1 man chainsaw and splitter $30 per hour $45 for 2 men. I would think a set price is good, so there will be no slouching on the job.

Nice looking stacks, MW. They'll look even nicer once full of splits. Hope he shows up.
