Thank you for the welcome stinny. Seems like a great forum with plenty of good information within. This is one of those topics near and dear to me. I have an aunt who refuses to sell the remnants of the family farm to myself, sister and mother simply because we all heat with wood taken from the property. What a backwoods savage lifestyle. My mom is a third owner of the estate. Lived here her entire life while everyone else moved away as quickly as possible. They didn't want to be associated with anything to do with a farm. Instead they wish to sell 20 acres of prime forest land to the state and attempt to sell the other 40 acres of not so,prime wetlands to a developer. Sheer lunacy but there's no reasoning with the elite.
Family farms are now 3-5ac mini estates. Farms got taxed out of existence , very common what with sewer and water line charges per lineal ft, Access roads and the like.
