I pulled a good one on myself, today. I felt really stupid afterwards.

Well, that too.

 

Sounds like everybody has had some kind of experience.

 

I guess I havent been at it long enough with a saw. Did put some k1 in a lawn mower. That didnt work out.

 

Week or so ago I had a friend run me over some bar oil because I forgot it at home. After a little, very little while I climbed on the tractor and backed over it. What a mess. Feel stupid.....yup.

 

Sound like a ceremonial ritual of some sort

 

I’m convinced Bar oil is engineered to get on things it doesn't belong on ! It also has some interesting characteristics that can’t be explained by mere chemistry . Ever notice how when filling you bar oil tank ,it takes forever ? But , if you leave the oil cap loose , have a flippy cap explosion ,or just forget to put it on , it’s out of the tank and spreads into an Exxon Valdez puddle in less than the time it takes to make up new swear words ?

 

Oil, grease and paint and pipe dope, it gets on everything. And spray paint, I hate painting because I always get it all over me, and everything else. I was doing a little rattle can touch up today after doing some welding (got bored and had to do something) and of course I shake the can up good, then tried to remove the cap, and in the process scraped the spray button off of the stem, then picked it up and pushed it back on the stem, not noticing that the spray direction was aimed back at my shirt. Of course I sprayed myself first thing. Typical for me and paint.

 

Add never seize to your list, and get some in the Mrs. washer.....not a happy day.

 

or just forget to put it on

 

Coworker slathers anti seize on stuff like he owns stock in the company. I hate that stuff.

 

I use it due to working with stainless hardware often, but a little goes a long way...I try to not get too liberal with it.
