Tremendous job on the landscaping timbers and arbor.:salute: I don't know how you do it with all you've been through. You're like the TV show the bionic women from the 70's. :yes:You truly are an inspiration to me, and, I suspect many others.

I forgot to mention, the cause of my back getting in that condition, as you call it, was from getting hit by a car where the driver was using a cell phone. It totaled my bike :tears: and almost killed me! (doctors kept bringing me back or I'd be worm food now)

I believe these people texting and playing with their phones are worse than drunk driving, because everyone is doing it.:(

Thanks! I just do what I need to do or what I want to do. I will have to admit it is kind of fun doing something and then seeing peoples jaw drop or eyes pop out when I do something out of the ordinary. :bug: :D
I know a good number of states have made it illegal to text or use a cell phone unless it's hands free while driving, but I have my doubts it will ever be enforced. There have been studies that have proven using a cell phone (texting or talking while driving) is the same or worse than someone who is drunk and driving. Personally, I don't even own a cell phone. I hate the things. My home phone is basically for outgoing calls and I might use it once every couple of months. I keep the ringer on the phone and answering machine turned off though I do look at the caller ID when I see someone attempted to call. Okay, I hate all telephones!

The last few collisions I was involved in were with people using cell phones. The last time was the worst! But that hasn't stopped me from riding my motorcycle. I figure the next time, and hopefully there isn't a next time, that will be the end of me. Until then, I'll be like the Energizer Bunny. I'll keep going and going and going!

I took this picture a few years back on one of my road trips:

In British Columbia it is illegal to text and drive or use your cell phone and drive. There has been a real crack-down on drivers this year. Fines are pretty stiff. And so they should be. Distracted drivers are very much a hazard as Star Gazer can attest to.

So, at this point curiosity sets in. Did the driver get ticketed for using cell phone while driving or not?

If I remember correctly, the driver did receive a ticket, but it was for "Failure to yield the right of way!" :headbang: Can you imagine? o_O :jaw:

The hands-free law went into affect for NH not too long ago. Its affects on people's behavior lasted a couple of months. Now I see phones to ears and entire cars full of texters everywhere again (really - 4 people all texting, and probably each other ). Heck, they can't see my big-azz RED SUV with headlights on during the day, they sure as heck aint going to see the bike, so I ride like I'm invisible - but everyone is trying to kill me. KOW - it's worked so far.

You just got a whole new level of respect from me - doing the labor you are with all that hardware keeping you together and majority loss of use of your legs :dex::yes:

It's always the same old excuse "Officer, I didn't see the biker" when if the truth were told, it would be "Officer, I was too busy texting or talking on my cell phone to notice anything let alone the biker who is now on their way to the hospital because of my stupidity!"

Some years back, I witnessed a car where the driver was texting run into a huge yellow Hummer H2. I wonder how they explained that to the officer! I guess there is no limit to how stupid people can be!

BTW, this week I will be processing more firewood (splitting by hand) and I might even get to the 4 mid sized black locust my neighbor needs felled and CSS for one of his family members. Otherwise I'll do that next week.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! :D

That RR tie retaining wall is very impressive. That was a huge effort. Even with a huge back issue, you were able to get it done. I am envious. I can't even move a RR tie. Heck, I can't bend to try to pick it up. I wouldn't think of you or any other of our ladies as an Amazon. Just as very capable and determined people. That is about the description of most folks on here. We are all a big family, all shapes, ages, and all driven to it things done.
