    I can only imagine!
For the time being, I'll use pallets and "Timberloc" screws, unless someone wants to donate some auger time or jab the ground wit them clam diggers.

We did over 10 3' deep post holes in granite/shale at our previous home for the dogs fence. DH used a rock breaker, I sat on the ground and dug out the rocks as he broke them. Ummmm yea, we were in our early 20s. Awesome fenced yard.....we will not be doing that ever again.

I totally had a nightmare last night that someone stole all my split firewood. I was crushed, all my hard work gone. This morning I asked my SO if my firewood was still there when the dogs were let out. Yes it is, WHEW!

I would not have relied on my SO to give me that info.
I would have had to rush out the door and count all my splits.:D:rofl:

Didn't read all the posts, so perhaps with was suggested, but wonder if a solar powered motion light would be a good idea at the stacks. Cheers!

I have solar and wired motion lights all around my yard, along with chain link fencing. I'm more worried about theft and vandalism than wood rustling. Were in a small city, any punks wouldn't have much use for firewood, but everything else here can be pawned...

While I realize that using violent methods is not acceptable and will get you in trouble,
just imagine how cool this would be.

    Just a quick little update.
Had an old car my ex SIL left here sitting in the field, so I had someone come take it away.
When they pulled the car out, I noticed something right at the edge of the trees, about 50-60' away from where the stacks were and sort of behind the car.
I won't make you guess......it was another propane tank. So, that's 3 of those little buggers. I'm starting to think they were out there a while scouting for deer with a little heater.

I noticed in the back corner of the woodshed, one stack looked a little lower/shorter than I remember from this summer... Laid a few splits 90* to the stack, on top, and took a picture for reference... No game cam here.

I hope that was it too. Not a good thing but better than the alternatives.

hope its not meth cookers. Are they the new style tanks or do they still have the old style ports? They may jus be getting rid of old style tanks that cant be refilled.
