This stuff works great for mower decks also snow blowers.

They use the water from fracking wells around here. STATE POLICIES ON USE OF HYDRAULIC FRACTURING WASTE AS A ROAD DEICER
So that is my experience with it, I did learn something new though; about you guys using calcium chloride which I'm kind of surprised since I thought it cost more vs. rock salt or other forms of brine waste.

It does but it works better as a pre-treatment and The Rock salt doesn't work below I think it's -10 degrees. The real problem is the new trucks that are $60,000 don't make the five-year rust through warranty, that's a class action lawsuit.

Only tried on my mower once, did not seem to make a difference. Maybe didn't put enough on?

Well I was looking through old threads and posts and realized I'd never updated my own thread. I got a Christmas gift to myself late December 2018, a 2016 crew-cab short-bed F250 with 44,000 miles on it. Paid just under $29k for it. This is the only picture I have of it, taken in June when I was redoing my driveway. I still hate the interior but I have gotten used to it by now. Biggest gripes are that the SYNC radio does not stream music from my phone (Hello, Ford? It's 2016? My Hyundai could do that in 2011...) and with the big 6.2L engine it will pass everything but a gas station. I have filled the bed with split firewood several times, and had at least a yard of sand dumped in there, and it barely noticed the weight. I had the undercarriage Fluid Filmed in March, and I will have it done again in October before we get snow. Hope I can get ten years out of it, more if I can keep the rust at bay.

You sure can stream from your phone to the sync. Time to break out the manual. ;) Either through Bluetooth or if you are lucky, a 3.5 mm headphone jack. My hello Ford moment for Ford is that the most expensive stereo/ nav unit has no aux in jack, but the less expensive models have the aux in. Aux in has better quality than Bluetooth.

    Nice truck!

Yeah, my 2018 Fusion has Sync and has bluetooth stereo, as well as a USB input.

Nice looking truck, and a pretty good deal too!

Ive been a GM guy most of my life, im personally about done with them.

I believe i bought my last GM truck, possibly GM vehicle last summer.
    A 2018 Silverado 3500.

    I use to daily drive a 2003 GMC 2500HD.
It picked up an electrical issue and i just recently sold it.
Im holding off for now but have done alot of window shopping and research
    on newer ram trucks.

Im going to be buying a 1500 ram for my next truck.

If you like electrical problems, you are looking at the right brand. ;). I looked at the Ram's. Probably came this close to buying a new crew cab hemi rebel. Then lack of availability of certain options at the time I wanted to buy really turned me off.

Good luck with the truck sir. What did it cost to have your truck fluid filmed ?
    Sounds like a great idea.

So just how bad is the 6.2 on fuel. My 7.3 diesel is getting older and I really like the fords. I don’t think I need a diesel.

I was just going to comment about his statement of the thirsty 6.2...thats not been my experience...while not a great commuter vehicle mileage wise, a 6.2 will easily double the fuel mileage of an old school carburated big block...assuming you are not towing heavy, or have a heavy foot. My work vehicle is a 2011 F-250 with a 6.2 and a loaded service body on it...almost 100% city driving...and lots of idle time, and it still gets 7-8 MPG. That's way better than previous generation engines...it has good power too. I hear of guys getting mid to upper teens from them driving highway...lots of possible variables there too I suppose. YMMV...

And I've lost count the number of people that I've met that have abandoned diesel for gas with pickups...people that run fleets of trucks, and always had diesel before. Diesel fuel mileage has dropped (along with reliability) and gas engines have improved in those depts. Plus the fuel costs too I'm sure...diesel still up, gas is down. Diesel pickup engine MFG's have just plain priced out of the market IMO, for the average guy anyways...
