I just bought the 555 (always had Stihls mainly), any way I did not disengage the chain brake. Trying to get clutch cover back on is a pain. This ever happen to any of you and what did you do? I should have paid more attention. Tom
I made a tool out of a scrench. Took some time. Happened to me over 3 years ago with a 455 Rancher.. Pain in the A$$!! Others have used large screwdrivers and got it done. Takes a little ingenuity, some common sense, and a little hill billy (alright, I am A LOT Hill Billy) but whatever gets it done. I always check to make sure the brake is disengaged before removing it now. Good luck bro.. Knowing you, you should be able to get it off in no time.

Worked like a charm. Lol... I messed with that thing for an hour last night and just fixed in 10 seconds. I feel like an idiot. I will remember to disengage next time, lesson learned, thanks alot.
So is it safe to come out and say I've done this before too now? Vice grips & channels locks are my favorite tools after duct tape, bungee cords and JB weld.
I did the same thing when I got my 555. Used the video and had her fixed in 2 mins. I love you tube at times like that. I also felt like an idiot for leaving the brake on , so I didn't mention it on here with hopes of finding a fix on you tube first.

Yep , done that to, and put oil and gas in the wrong tanks , and put the chain on backwards , noticed that before I tried to cut though
