Well lesson learned. I will from now on only take wood if I for sure get permission from the cutter or land owner. I'm not a sheister! Don't wanna be one.

Here they use Asplaunt, Lucas Tree and ABC Tree. The latter was the worst, all from out of country in the Carribean and did half a job, and under half the lines. I have NOT seen them back. Aslpaunt is good, but slow, but Lucas probably does the best.

I have probably 2-1/2 miles of powerline on my property and generally they do a decent job. I was a little miffed at Lucas a few weeks ago when they parked in my lower driveway to do a 1/2 mile section out behind me that they have to do by hand. In their wake they left a lot of trash and soda bottles from their lunch breaks. I thought that was a little unprofessional.

Around here, curb side is fair game in town, but not when you get to the "rural" areas and it comes to wood. Always ask, and be prepared to have the landowner's name if you're cutting when he isn't there. If the town takes a tree they will ask the landowner if they want it, and set it back on the property a bit, but Asplundh will just leave it where it's most convenient, even if the owner plans to use it.
