Very observant on the pine - the three longest logs I took are all pine. He wanted the pile gone so I took it all. The pine will be relegated to outdoor pit fires.
I split a bunch of what I think is cherry. Very faint, slightly sweet smell. But the wood is not as dark as I've seen in other cherry I've split. Below are photos of the split wood, close up of some of the logs and bark. I am leaning towards cherry, not birch, but still am not 100% certain. What say y'all?
I could be mistaken when i said choke cherry. Maybe wild cherry as i did look it up. Its definitely not black cherry.
