Yep that will wipe out a chain in nothing flat. I was milling some pine I got up in the mountains and hit a big screw that was in it. Not a good feeling.
I was cutting up another pine log today that I hauled out last year. I found about 5 bullets in it. I guess I cut down a target practice tree up in the mountains. Oh well now it will keep me warm.
Not good to see that Ward Hoarder Ever use that blade that Secret Santa sent? I've been curious of how you liked, or didn't like it.
Chaz I'm saving the blade for a special project. I've only been sawing pine 2x4,6,8. Lately. Only sawed these logs for a friend. I do have a post and beam project for the in-laws soon.
Was able to salvage this blade. Didn't hurt it to bad. About 5-6 teeth were this way. I'll keep it for other questionable logs.
I have heard from a professional miller that a metal detector will pick out most nails and asst. metal in a cut, but it is a PITA to use with every cut.
