That's a lot of work saved, cutting them down and dragging them out of the woods, loading and unloading
This was a WW thing chuckle, WWW wants to borrow a work trailer during the busiest work time of year when the trailers are in use 24/7, buy permits, create free time out of thin air to go to the mountains and fell, load, and a long trip back to our home. Not going to happen. Ummmm, he is welcome to if can make it work but it has not happened since 2011, and he is itching to spend his sparse spare time on camping/gold panning/fishing this summer. Ya, he's too much like you guys, our previous 20 years together we did everything ourselves, chit happens. He is starting to come around to the reality there are only 24 hrs in the day though
Of course that guy is way better than I ever was. It's been so long since I cut pine I didn't even feel comfortable limbing those pines at Backwoods Savage GTG like that.
Limbing pine takes a lot of time and some of them have a lot of branches. Can be a pain. Cut all the exposed limbs and then roll the tree and cut all the ones on the bottom. That is when it pays to have a saw that does not weight to much.
Congrats on the wood. Looks like plenty of BTU's there for next winter. I only go through about 3 cord a year so hopefully you will have little left over.
I was the limbing girl, tiny red saw, too much PPE, and was sent up the hill when WWW felled. No doubt I was happy to be along and help, dragging logs down a slope was easy then, but since I have joined FHC I now realize so many reasons why I had those specific tasks Oh, and he insisted I had to hold the saw off center to my torso, what PITA!! I understand that now too
Thanks!! We put in a pellet stove a year ago so that is our "furnace" now instead of 2 hungry smoke dragons, but we still use the wood insert on the wicked cold days, you out of everybody here knows better what I am talking about This delivery should last a couple years or more PS, the R/O filter we put in the sink for the hauled water is working great!
Yep I know exactly what your talking about. I will be going to the mountains myself pretty soon to start getting some of that pine. Good to hear the filter is working out.
Looks like a bit of a crappy job limbing those trees. Just causes extra work when bucking them up but WWW will no doubt make short work of it. (I hate the knobs sticking out where there was a limb. Like them cut flush to the tree of very close to it.)
