   They used the bottle up years ago and I threw it away. They don't moisten the paper towel, the soak the glass, it was a spray bottle. Now they use windex

   I've used ashes on a wet paper towel when the glass is cold and also very warm. But I never do that when the glass is hot--I'm afraid it would crack the glass.
