Well, we got your wish today, sort of. After an entire winter of record snow fall and temps, it got up to 56 F today, An entire winters snow melted in one day, ground frozen 3 feet deep and no where for the water to go. Then thunderstorms, then tornadoes, had as many as ten reported in our immediate 4 county area, Tornado sirens going off everywhere. Then ice jambs and flooding on the 2 water ways through our town. Had high hoes at all the bridges clearing the ice jambs but couldn't get it done fast enough to keep neighborhoods from flooding in record proportions. My street has impassible water. So, I think I prefer WINTER......this stuff sucks!

I heard that's happening all over the place.
A slow melt during the day & freeze at night is a good pace for thawing.

Can' imagine those living in low areas, flooded basements, standing water on ice.

    Hope everyones is safe.

Yeah, PP and the rest of you folks- stay safe. Weather is getting odd, snow pack and ice are getting odder.

Mother Nature rules (and she can be a beech)… we just get to pick up the mess on the other side. Your ice jams reminded me of a trip up through Fort Fairfield, Maine back in the late 70s. They'd had similar spring flooding issues. I was there right afterward. I'll never forget the ice chunks left in a parking lot next to the river. Sections of ice were 3' thick and as big around as a small truck! A guy was trying to move them with a front end loader and was having a hell of a time. Those chunks of ice looked pretty strange sitting there… unreal.

Good luck with Ma Nat's "fun" … hang on… :fire:
