We are good enough friends, I can’t imagine it being a problem. Might have to have him set it off to the side.

Swung in today just to check out my score, still there, but so was the city maintenance guy. We spoke a bit, I told him maybe Wednesday evening, he wasn’t worried. Even offered to help me on Wednesday.
The dump trailer I was hoping to use has been sold, but got the go ahead from another guy to borrow his small dump truck. It is low enough to load with a skid steer.
I’m guessing maybe 4 trips will get most of the stuff I want. All the Locust, 2 good sized spruce or pine logs, and then a bunch of the walnut. In that order.
Probably dig out some of the ash for the other saw junkie, just to be nice and avoid fighting each other for wood

That sounds like a good plan, especially helping out the other guys. Co operation usually gets way more done in the long run.

So I made it out to the tree dump tonight with my skid steer with grapple and a borrowed dump truck. It was a terrible dusty mess. Been super dry, hot, and the wind has been pretty stiff the last couple days too. Had to take extra care not to add any additional sand to the bark of the logs. There wasn’t as much good stuff as I had hoped but managed 2 loads that were as much as I thought the old truck needed. Not a bad score for about an hour and 1/2 not counting catching a ride to shuffle vehicles.
I got all the locust that I thought was worth the effort. Left a couple huge crotchety pieces and smaller limbs. Not as much walnut worth the effort either, left all the smaller limbs 4-5” and under. The better looking spruce log was gone but I did grab the other one. Wallowed the piles around to make some of the ash more accessible for the other guy.
I consider it done. I won’t be going back until something else worthwhile shows up. I have plenty to process in the yard now. If all the wood at my house was CSS’d I would have my 3 year plan in the bag, maybe 4 years.
    Tonight’s pictures

Nice with the equipment. Sure beats the other way. Will you process at work or did it go to your house? Good thing you just got another saw! ;)

Jealous on your Skid and truck. Guessing you had the loader trailer nearby? Or did you rode the skid to the dump and back? First I've seen of a Terex loader?

Trailer was out there, was standing next to it for the distance photo showing truck and tree pile.
You know how it is with companies buying each other out and putting their name on stuff. If I understand it correctly ASV kinda started the track skid steer and then became CATERPILLAR, then back to ASV which later became TEREX, then back to ASV. Many components on this machine are labeled ASV and I have to go to the ASV / KUBOTA dealer for parts, & they used to be a TEREX dealer

Man that is a sweet piece of machinery. Also great score. I'd watch that dump spot like a hawk. You've now got a decent plan in place to tackle big scores there. Might as well repeat if the opportunity knocks.

I watch it pretty regularly, seldom anything of interest firewood wise, & even more rarely any quantity.
Also not sure I ever want to use that dump truck again. I might would if’n it had enough brakes to tell about :jaw:

That truck looked like it was on its last legs, but still got the job done. Little white knuckle makes life exciting!

Fond memories of driving my dads 1967 Chevy with shift on the column! Thinking back it was a beat up POS (late 1980's) but still good memories!
How about pop starting the clutch...another lost art too!
