Hypothetical question.. how much less wood are you burning by seasoning an extra year?

I burned 30 or maybe 40% more wood this year than usual. But, since I was retired this winter, I have been home to feed the stove more, then my wife usually did during the course of the day, so that explains some of it, but then again, a lot of my wood this year could have probably used another year to season. I was about out of wood by last spring and didn't start cutting until late July or maybe August. I was cutting a lot of sort of dead stuff or wood that had been already in logs for a while, and some was a little punky, so all in all, maybe my wood wasn't the best. I did burn a lot of Black Locust towards the last half of the winter, but in reality it should have been seasoned another year, probably. Still yet, I thought it burned pretty darned good.

My wood this coming winter will be better seasoned, for sure. Glad I have finally gotten ahead probably 3 years on my wood cutting. This coming 21/22 will be better, but 22/23 will be better still as I will definitely be burning 2 to 3 year seasoned wood by then.
