Does anybody know what is the proper bar I should be using? Judging from the size of the oil holes on the bar I am pretty sure the smaller hole is not enough space to get proper oiling

Check the part number on the original bar.

What saw is it? A 450, 450e or 450 rancher

Can you provide pics of the markings on both? Should look like this:

You can see in my pic the designation D009. That's for the big Husky saws and designated large mount. The k095 is for smaller saws and called small mount. They also have an A041 for Poulan made stuff. Here's a chart if you want to take some measurements. It should answer your question.

Neither of the tails on those bars look correct. You need a k095 (small mount husky) bar mount in probably .325 pitch

Anybody know why the original bar says for 78 link but my chains are 80? Will they work together?

Paul, different bar lengths require a specific length chain. That is determined by what is called drive links.

There are different pitches of chain. You must be sure you have the pitch that matches the sprocket (either spur or rim) on your saw. .325, 3/8 and .404.

Last is gauge. It’s the width of the drive lengths. It’s usually .050, .058 & .063.

So depending on the saws drive pitch, you either need .325 or 3/8. Then look on the bar you pick and see how many drive links that bar requires. Get a chain with that many drivers. If you need 78, 80 doesn’t work. You run out of chain adjustment. They will not work together.

Here’s some pics of the important numbers on saw bars.

^. 74 drive links, .325 pitch and. .063 gauge. That is the specific chain that would be needed for that bar.

This is what you get, typically, with Husky homeowner saws.

Same set of ID numbers to tell you what chain is needed for that bar. So you must make sure the pitch matched your saw before buying or changing bars on the saw.

Lastly, Husky uses two primary mount sizes, like I mentioned above. Small and large mount. If you could find those identifying numbers on your bars, you can clear some things up.

Use the Oregon Part Finder tool to figure out what mount you need for your saw. Then you can get the proper bar.

According to Oregon it says it requires the Z095 bar mount.

On this here pdf it says the following:

"In a few cases where two bars would have the same length in their part numbers but different drive-link counts, the letter Z will be used in the bar-mount description to distinguish between them (K095 and Z095 for example)."

I think that means the length is the same (say 18") but the bar is that much "taller" that it requires a different amount of drive links even with the same pitch. I think that might be answer to y our question.
