When I was working at a dealership we would do quick lil favors like that for customers all the time...especially good/regular customers, but some lil items (like let's say, charge/test a battery, no charge for that, no matter if they were a frequent flyer, or stranger...if they went up front and bought a new one, great, if not, fine, have a nice day either way! Even if they don't spend any money there that day, if they find you helpful/friendly, likely they'll be back sometime.
Super good guy! We talk about dealer support all the time on this site, and a guy like Brian running his business and treating people as he does is why.
