The gray/orange paint scheme reminds me of a crotch rocket bike. Not my cup of tea, rather have all orange!

Do they make 545's with heated handles. I won't buy a new saw with out heat.

Once you try one you won't either.

No. The 550 and 545 have no "G" option

I often wondered about the heated handles for cold weather cutting, I laughed about heated seats in vehicles till the Subaru we got had them, yea my cold butt likes them when the mercury drops. :D

How do they heat anyway? Is it electrical, or do they somehow direct hot exhaust thru the handle or something...?

An electric element in the wrap handle, the rear handle, and there is one on the front of the carb (a plate to preheat the carb/air).

The MS 440 Arctic I picked up has heated handles/carb. There is a switch on the the side to turn it on and off.

You guys are spoiled, I was excited when I realized my new (old) truck even had heat the other day. My last truck didn't have anything

    :handshake: LOL... Love it..

Mr. Chainsaw, I am not.. :) Far from it. I am a mere amateur when it comes to this hobby and the Pro's here.

I did own a couple ;). If buying, selling, and trading are considered a profession? Then I might be something? I've owned all 4 of the series (545, 550xp, 555, 562xp). Not for me. Didn't like the sideways balance :p
