This should hit land as a strong cat 1- just like Sandy. Looks like we are all in for very rough start of the next work week. As the storm progresses, it will become clear where the exact track will be. This time around, Ill have much more fuel on hand, rather than pulling from the boat/quads, etc when the gas stations could be down for a week again. Fingers crossed!

This slug from yesterday was supposed to mostly go around to the west of where I live, hit Western Maryland. This morning the rain totals where I am came to 4.48". The next few days should be interesting.
I have an extremely dry basement, stays dry even in torrential downpours. In the ten years I have been here, twice I saw a couple tiny puddles in the MIDDLE of the floor, no wet spots on wall or ceiling, no clue where the water came from. Pretty sure it did not come up from the floor, as the paint showed no sign of bubbling or peeling. This morning there were about 5 of these puddles. One of them was right next to a rug that was completely dry.
And I just painted that basement.

That sucks, but you've had good luck so far. Hopefully with what's coming, (Virginia expecting 12+ inches of rain) you'll do ok. I'd get the sump pump ready though.....

Well, although forecasters didn't think this tropical storm would upgrade into a hurricane until much later, it did this morning. I updated the title-hang on to your hats boys and girls, this should get interesting!

(Can you tell I love weather?)

Good thinking, now's the time to start provisioning.. keeping a good thought for all down your way, hoping the storm tracks out to sea.

By this time tomorrow, where this hurricane will strike land will be clear. It already looks like Baltimore,& D.C area will get the worst. This will probably change.

Dagone hurricane season has been quiet all year. Not we get hit. I was going to wash windows this weekend. Guess it will be done for me...

Don't laugh too soon. There is at least one model that takes it up into the thumb.

By the time it gets here; it'll be just a bunch of rain. (I hope!)

Yes, lets hope for the best all around! Sandy did a number on the Northeast; we kind of dodged the bullet down here. Maybe it will blow out to sea, or peter out...:handshake:
I was just thinking, I love snow...

Well I'm gonna make sure the saws are gassed up and the chains are sharp. Might have lots of firewood opportunities. I'm only 4 miles from the beach, we get hit hard with the wind and rain.

First time she made them so they weren't anything crazy. They came out good though. She used ricotta cheese. She said she's going to flavor them next time.
