Good on ya for helping out the neighbors. No worries about flooding at our elevation. In Olean we'd have water percolating up through floor drain and small cracks in basement floor. Never enough to require a sump pump, it would go back down floor drain. Dehumidifier ran 24/7 in that place. Shelving units to keep most everything off the floor.
