    There have been some strange things seen in this neck o' the Blue Ridge, but the bulk of the UFO thing seems,IIRC, to be attributed to the local AM radio personality out here, Danney Gee... He's different.

    Kimberly, that was a great post! Sorry that I remember when you got on the forum but for some reason had quit following. Probably because of post count as when a thread gets lots of posts I tend to shy away thinking I can no longer contribute anything.

    But, this story is super! Your thoughts on what needs to be done are good. I hope you know what kind of wood you should be getting for next winter. If not, your best bet is some wood like soft maple, silver maple and several of the softer woods; even pine. The reason is they can dry out faster after being split and stacked.

    If I understand correctly, your experience with a chain saw is pretty low. In that case, I would recommend you get with someone who has some experience with one but not someone who has just cut enough firewood for a year or two. Need more experience than that! One great place would be to somehow get yourself to the GTG at Dexter Day's place later this month. This would be excellent as you can talk to many who have experience and will even let you run saws, etc.

    Good luck to you and hopefully you will be warm next winter.

    I agree Backwoods Savage, Kim had posted a pic of some down trees taken by the failed Poulan.... Not nearly enough to get ahead, but she's got the forum to sift thru, or outright ask those questions... So excited for her... I, like everyone else here want her to be VERY careful!

    PS, I lost use of the sweatshirt you sent me a month after it arrived. He traded me for a red roofing brand one, but the neck opening was too small for him but fits me fine. Thanks again friend!!!! Oh, and he is out and about with work all day, so good advertising for this site. He said he has been asked several times about the logo!!

    Kimberly, you're experiencing first hand why this place is what it is. It really doesn't happen because of one or two people, but more as an AMAZING group of individuals. Kinda reminds me of Legos......as they start coming together, one by one, they can form into an amazing masterpiece! The comraderie, selflessness, friendliness and open-mindedness of our membership base is simply amazing. Our members make this site what it is. And I'm grateful for all of them!!
