Lotsa blowin snow here too. Still have power (sadly) Prep: final shopping done a week ago, topped off fuel tanks as the week wore on. Prayed for snow as the week wore on. Did all laundry, anything that could more efficiently be done w/electric, was. Reached out to a few folks. Prayed for snow. Sca
That is about the only thing I am able to do. My son does the rest. The only other thing is to make sure we have whatever we want for food, then cook some up ahead so if we loose power, we still are all good and not stuck with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I have two generators. All set to go as far as I know.
Well, looks like the biggest part of the storm has passed here. Still have power and winds are dropping off quite a bit. No idea at all how much snow we got but nowhere near the possible prediction of 18" to 24". Maybe 6", maybe 8" but I would be surprised if it were substantially more and I am doubtful that it was less. Now I have to remember that one of my 'Kerosene' containers actually contains gasoline. I know it is a bad idea but I grabbed an empty yellow container to stock up on gasoline after I ran out of red containers. Hopefully a red tag with the word 'Gasoline' attached to that yellow container will be stronger than my old- age dementia so that I can burn off that gasoline before putting it in my torpedo heater. Still, it might be exciting to see the salamander drink gasoline just before the fireball engulfs me..... (black humor folks, no need to worry or bash me about it... I really want to die in my sleep rather than in my garage engulfed in flames ). Anyway, it looks like the 'storm of the century' for 2022 is basically over and is not going into anyone's record books. Now to find a way to convince my wife that she really, really wants to use the snow blower
Just because I have a hard time seeing what I don't expect to see (and have CRS), I would wrap up that container's spout in painter's tape too. That would make me think about why I did so - and hopefully prompt me to look at the red tag .
That’s a great idea. Your brain must work like mine. I would go to grab that can & probably never notice the red tag but that tape would certainly get my attention when I went to pour.
I do residential plowing so I refresh my facebook post on the local town pages and get to bed early. Ended up spending 32 hours in my truck between 4am Saturday and 3pm Sunday.
