sit the cylinder side of the head on glass and use a feeler gauge to see if you can slide it under anywhere
Smallest feeler guage I have is .003 and it will not go under anywhere. I'm guessing that's small enough?
Intact. Two of the head bolts were much looser than the other 4 and those two loose ones were the spot it was leaking from.
how much looser ? any wear from it or can see where oil flowed on either the head or cylinder ? its possible it just needs a gasket and bolted back in place and torqued
looks like about half it was leaking and as you said most noticeable from 12 to 2 between the 2 bolts
Yep. I'm thinking 18 years of abuse loosened those 2 up and caused the leak. Threads look good. Gonna do like U said. Clean, gasket, torque it, and run it like it's stolen lol.
id try it whats a gasket cost ? if it doesnt work then have the head resurfaced but id say it will be fine
Parts arrive Thursday. Also got some A arm bushings, and Atie rod end. Should be back in action Friday.
Evening fellas how’s you? All is well on this end of the continent. Kids are riding snow machines around. Mum and I are sitting around the fire pit.
