Afternoon All. How's you ?? Was talking to a friend in Minnesota this morning. Yesterday he had more than 50° colder temp than we had here at the cabin. He was even colder than Rope.
They all can get wonkey. My first Simington 450 was a little off from one side to the other. A tapered shim washer jb welded to the base fixed it so it was nearly perfect. Definately good enough for bushlin.
Dan, friend running my fon is one of the best sawyers I know. His emphasis is on quality and deminsionaly consistent production. All the buck off goes to firewood that his wife splits and sells for firewood. The far left blue roof in the vid is a house I built for them. It is entirely sheathed with hemlock 1x8 . 16 ' rafters . when I got to the ridge I was within 3/8" for 36' . He saws with a Mobile Dimension Mfg Volkswagon mill.
I gotta go saw off a hunk of moose ham and bring it in to thaw for steaks tonight. Dig the tire chains out of my Whitey truck and put in the van. People wondered why I wanted a 1 ton Ford van ? . Simple. I now have 3 rigs that can take the same tires and wheels. I'de like to find a set of 16" rims for our Dakota. Then EVERYTHING would run the same tires.
I bin thinking I should see about reviving the 534 Jonsred I liberated from a dumpster this fall. Clean the oiler system immaculate and only run cooking oil in it for moose and bou. If the carb block is intact. Then maybe just a carb kit and new fuel line , filter and tank vent may get it all tip top.
