Evening all , how's you ?? This is an Alaskan thermometer. Tho I really like Tok. I prefer our more moderate temp in Glennallen most of the times. As long as it doesn't get much above +5°F. A steady diet of 40 below is Hard. I know a guy in Hoonah( Tlingit village on Chichagof Is. Southeast Alaska) that stopped for the night at a hotel in Tok. Next morning when he got up late. He looked out the window, saw it was nice and sunny and decided to walk across the highway to the gas station for a pack of smokes. So, off he goes with his fleece jacket and ball cap on. Its about maybe 250 yards. Half way there he knew he'd bit off more than he wanted to chew . by the time he got to the filling station he had frost nipped his ears and ended up with mild frost burn on his face and nose. Lost the skin off half of his ears within 2 days . It was 45 below. He was walking fast which generated enough wind chill to put the actual temp his skin was feeling close to 60 below. There's a reason our parkas have big long fur ruffed hoods. . Anyway. Morning all.
