    Terry was saying something about the nylon mesh filter will let them breathe a little easier.... would be worth fartin' around with I think...

    i did a 390 kit with a 044 carb and it acted like it didnt have enough fuel
    on the 290s they help alot
    i may get some of the mesh filters and see how they do

    Look at the new breed of saws that turn faster than their predecessors and have small carbs and intake tracks yet spool up instantly to a high rpm. The velocity takes more fuel with it, big carb makes it lazier, unless just holding it wide open and laying it on a cant.

    My buddy said the same thing. He thought the 390 ran better with the original carb. The one I just did was a 310. I think it has a different carb than the 290??
