I am bucking with the 441, but since getting the 026 and starting the square filing I have not used the 441. The 034s and 036's are on the bench asking to make the game.
For years, the 034 super was all I used, then I got the 036 pro, got the other 036 less than a year ago. Since I do most of my wood cutting in the winter, wading in deep snow all geared up. They get heavy by the end of the day. I picked up the 261 5-6 weeks ago for felling. Then decided to get the 441 to buck the log piles. Working out well so far.
I can imagine that the 034s and 036 ported can get close to or out do a stock 441. Then that will have to be ported. That and the 261. I want a few more tanks on the 026 before I lose the 261 for a bit.
I really liked/like my 044/440. Just wish the A/V was better. My wrist will let me know if I ran it the next day.
The ported 026 is running great, have about a 1/2 tank through it. Need to play with some saws in the morning before work. Pile bucking vs by the piece saves so much time, it not funny. The downside is I am not running saws as much, but enjoy the gained time.
I have not used the 441 for long periods of time, but it seems pretty good. I cut soft wood and its not as ruff on the sawyer. I don't cut white birch often, when I do, I feel it.
Depends on the job. 1 saw fence clearing/ fixing the 261. Firewooding an oak 550/2171 unless it's hot then change the 550 for a 346.
I just cut firewood, cut it down to 8'6" in the woods. Then pile at the house and buck the pile. Try to keep as simple as can be. The 8'6" cuts down to 5@17" all works out good.
I don't have to move it till it's split. Sometimes I'll bring the trunks home so I can work on them in a free moment.
The benefit of cutting on your own place. And having a tractor that can move a whole tree. I move wood up to 30 miles, but the wood is free. So is the land I cut it on, state land from a wildfire.
