Nice edge. What kind of sharpener is that?

I'm a poor teacher. Just ask my wife...

 

It appeared to be a beater knife so I stopped @ medium diamond, 25 degrees. I can do much better and it's a Lansky.

 

Well she's sitting up & doctored again. Didn't eat or drink much today. If not up tomorrow I'll lift her for a bit.

See the little triangle miniature shark fin in the bottom of the gullet? Get rid of that, you want a nice smooth gullet all the way up to the raker. This allows the chip to flow unabated, thus a faster cut.

 

Yep. Poured half each Tues and Wed. 50x100 total. Gonna keep it above 50 for a week or so.

 

Looks like it should be decent temps this year, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the tip. That is a brand new chain first sharpening. When I sharpened that I had a killer sinus cold and could not take the sound of filling the gullet, was a little squeaky.

 

I get to do that when we go to town but there is 3 kids in the car. No so much fun. They never agree on the movie...

 

I like to use one of those little pink 7/32" stones in a rotary tool.

 

I have a dremal that's a great idea thanks.

 

At least you have your phone with you to kill some time. With the time you've spent with that building, down time-not so bad.
