Your grind might be easier to follow than the factory grind? Newbies are often advised to clean/ thin the gullet back. Makes it very similar to converting from round. I learned without either so what do I know...
Another video for you Tom. Tree is a pecan that was in my bottle calf weeding pen. When they were board they'd chew on the bark for some reason.
Here was my square file attempt. I was amazed at how much sharper the corners are. Taking pictures should me what angles were not quite right. Double beaks. By the end I had a better feel. Not sure I like the 6 sided file I had some problems with inside corners.
The 046 carb does good on my friends 290. He wants another saw with a 390 in it now with the new cross piston with popup. 175 comp is what guy's are getting With those curious to try one now. I told him to find another saw and i would build it. That 290 runs excellent might advance the timing next. .
Mornin men. Yesterday my wife noticed the slightest hint of burning plastic smell in the house. Kinda scary right! We went to the basement and could smell it in one direct spot near my winter work shop bench. Nothing visibly wrong and it disappeared if you walked 2 steps away. This a.m. she woke me after getting out of the shower at 5:30 to tell me we have no hot water. Looked and horey sheet... that could have been bad! Heater has been there since we moved in 18yrs ago. Breaker was tripped and it puked rusty water out the top. All I can think of is the myth busters episode where they shot them off through houses! Looks like I’m headed to Lowe’s.
We told you......slippery, slippery slope 5 or 6 years ago I only had 2 saws. One I had bought new, one was older but was for my bigger stuff. Last count was 30 runners, 25 of which I and others have ported. It's kinda dumb, but fun
