    Mike, is a Pioneer p39 worth a chit? I was given one a while back with coil issues. Wonder if it's worth my time?

    Yes it's a decent saw, it's real similar to the farmsaw. It has the same coil witch is the blue presto lite. You can stick the coil in the oven at 200 degrees for a couple hours, and it might come back to life.

    Here are the specs for it. And I was mistaken it's not the same coil as the farmsaw, but the trick should work.Model Profile: P39

    Doesn't appear easy to replace the lead, so I guess I could try and splice and end on?

    Yes, splice another wire on by soldering, fill in with silicone sealer and heat shrink tubing, then put a new end on. Not ideal, but will get you going again. Just make sure splice is in a good place where it doesn't need to bend or such.

    I would try that first and see how it does. That's the newer style coil that isn't known for failing.

    Lol. Hard to like that post but I hear ya. I have to get back to the chiropractor for a visit soon. I am lucky to only need a tweak here and there.
