Tha garbage bag was mearly a holding jig, it was the white cloth he was trying to buck up.

Clearly his chain blade was too dull to buck up the white cloth which led to the sharpening.

I thought the beginning of the video was bad but then him trying to explain why he does what he does is terrible. Reminds me of being a little kid and asking my mom why. She would say because I said so. :headbang:

However incorrect the video may be I have to applaud the guy for "attempting" to make such a vid and post it for the world to see.
May I suggest looking around on FHC for proper chain sharpening techniques, PPE use, etc.
There is a wealth of available knowledge here including but not limited to basic terminology. Why "different woods are well different". Etc.
    We all start somewhere.
    Slim.

I give him credit for putting himself out there, not always easy to do, and taking time out of your own life to do something for others is always commendable

But it is so darn easy to make fun of, I thank him most for the good laughs my wife and I have had over the past few days. I think it would be great if he kept with a theme of inept how to videos, like how to make toast where he shoves a fork in the toaster or something.

    yes that would be hilarious!!

I too have vids of me being an intentional dummy. For instance I was seating a tire back on a rim with flammable spray. I start the video by taking my safety glasses off "cuz ya don't need em" chucking em' to the side. Funny as could be but I would NEVER post such vid on say an automotive repair forum... For the sake of innocent people searching the inter webs for such a vid.

It's a bar and chain.. A chainsaw consists of a chain (that does the cutting) and a bar (the guide in which the chain goes around). There is no BLADE on a chainsaw. Go ask your dealer or anyone here, on Arboristsite, or any other Wood, saw, or tree forum.

Experts tend to use the proper terminology.

And not one person here is a hater. If you were not so defensive, asked people here, or searched the forum on chain sharpening, PPE, etc. Then you would see that your video is far from a professional manner, terminology, PPE, and also very wrong on several points

Welcome to the forums and I hope you stick around and learn and share some of your stories. But videos like these are watched daily by people doing Google searches. They take this like gospel and these practices in your video are not condoned or practiced by FHC or its members.

Don't get butthurt because people are saying that the video is wrong. All wrong. Because it is.

    Cheers bro!! :drunk:
