They also work great for getting your pulling line through conduit.
    And priming fish tank filters.

A girl at work spilled powdered mash potato into a sink..
It turned into cement but a shop vac was the ticket.
Thank goodness it didn't go past the trap..
Can't say the same about a pan of rice a dishwasher dumped down the garbage disposal..
That was a several hour snake out.

Going to tuck this one in the bag of tricks.
Until today it been a wire coat hanger un assembled, semi straightened, and used like a gangly cork screw.

I use our old Craftsman 16G from time to time on the kitchen/laundry drain, fits perfect in the floor drain. Seems to buy a little time between snake cleanings.
Side question, does anyone have a favorite vacuum? My old Craftsman 2.5 hp is every bit 30 years old and getting tired. Been looking for years, but don't know what ones suck the most, needs to be sucky you know.

Years ago I did a service call at a company that made shop vacs. They made about 10 different brands so I don’t know if it matters much. They moved to China since then.

Yeah, they do work good. You'll also be reminded of how long your wife's hair is. You also may be a bit disgusted after you see what you pull from the drain .

For the toilet cleaning we just buy "the works". It's super cheap, and it works great.

    One word. White Vinegar.
Oops, that's two, but it "works" too. We have some "The Works" in the bath vanity.

That seems a hell of a lot easier than my method of shoving a hooked piece of coat hanger down the drain.....except that it is still quicker the old way because the coat hanger stays under the sink for reuse.

Another shop vac trick. Stick it on your oil fill hole of engines, compressors, industrial machinery ect. You can then remove the plug and position your pan ect. Flip the switch to drain.

May we say that Mr. Kraft is a schmuck ? Poor move that will affect our Patriots forever.
Can we promote "lock 'em up" ? This is a guy who is one of the previously 'clean' and generous philanthropists of most. And he does this lame move just for $79.00/hour !

Now back to prime time clogs : Semtex.
