    Let us not forget to place some anti groundhog fencine. Danged things like to make homes under our wood stacks.

    Then one must also put some salt down under the stacks so nothing freezes and that way you won't have the freeze/thaw problem commonly known as ground heave. But you also have to leave enough room for a few snakes to get into the piles so they will eat all the mice who take up the wood piles as new living quarters.
