Thanks Marty, it was too dark for him to see tonight if was still there. Hopefully I will get to the bottom of the "out of area" Game Warden and find out what happened tomorrow.
Not sure what the warden is doing but apparently he does not pick up his phone or return messages. I have his direct line as of this morning. Already left a voicemail.
Aaaaaaaand this is why I said to stay on him. I know they are busy, but chit....call the reporting party back. I'm surprised they gave you the number. Here dispatch takes your #, then the warden calls you from a private cell with undisclosed caller id.
I have called 4 times, think the dispatch gal was tired of hearing from me so she gave me the # to his substation.
GW called back, said he did not see it this afternoon. Well, hmmmm over 36 hours later. Then he described the area he was looking in. Ummmm, I rarely travel so I passed the phone off to WWW. Well, they are now discussing big game hunting areas
1 per common species (deer, antelope (poss elk?)). Many areas are draw only. If one does not bag during archery, it will roll over to rifle if the hunter chooses to buy and additional tag. White tail, mule, and black tail are all in the same bag, limit of 1 regardless of which species is shot.
So, after "patiently" waiting through the phone call, GW told him to check again in the morning and call the raptor lady if he sees it. Back story, hope I am not making drama. When WWW finally went by today in daylight again (last night and this morning was in pitch dark) there were two yearling eagles on telephone posts in that area. Hoping the bird in the field was one of them on the post, but cannot rule out those were two other siblings watching the sick one. Unlike my former self, I will wait for WWW report tomorrow.
