Personally, I would either ask for cash, or a USPS money order. Just make sure they come during hours that the USPS is open. Call your local branch and they can verify the check is legit, and you can cash it there after.
02, 50,000 miles on it. Last ran it in 2018 (I think). Drained the old fuel but won't fire. Don't hear the fuel pump but looks like I have power to it for a moment. Got a pump but still need to pull the old one. With any luck there will just be a loose wire from when I wiped out the tank (best I could) from the sending unit opening. Great bike and a lot of fun.
I had its twin some years back! Pooh Bear Chances are that the fuel pump is just gummed up from sitting...take it out and soak it in some carb cleaner...maybe tap on it a little with a wood or plastic screw driver handle, chances are it will break loose and be fine. FYI, that is normal to have power momentarily after turning the key on...or cranking the engine over...if engine doesn't fire, the ECM will cut power to the pump a few seconds after cranking, or key on.
I'm thinking that is the case. Fuel pump assembly is $265.00 but I found you can just buy the pump, without the housing for $40.00 as it is common with many Honda cars, just can't damage the plastic housing that it sits in. Still leaning towards cash, but see how today goes. Thanks again all.
Some $ counters have counterfeit detection. The one we have in our office does. Even detects other types of bills. I think non magnetic stripe and a couple others. PayPal would be safe friends and family. Never had a problem with a customer through PayPal on a regular transaction. Several on eBay though. Got away from eBay for that very reason. Square credit card app is a safe one too and anyone can download it. I wouldn’t take a bank check as has been stated , easily counterfeited.cash is king.
For something that is going to be exchanged personally I would do cash. I wouldn't trust a check, easy to forge, easy to stop payment. Paypal is great when you are going to ship something. I would pay the 3% for the appropriate transaction and not abuse the F&F intention.
Nice !! A bit yellow though. Our warehouse manager had a gold colored one very much like that one. Took it for a spin around the block and it was a lot more manageable weight than I thought it would be.
Productive day!! Sold the bike for asking price. $1,700 PP F&F plus $2,000 cash. Had all funds before letting him do a test ride to cover our butts. Goldwing is running! Replaced the fuel pump motor, $40.00 vs. $265.00 for a complete fuel pump. Could not believe that it started right up like it was ridden yesterday. While fuel pump was out cleaned the gas tank well and filled with fresh gas. Now change the oil/filter and ride it some to make sure everything is in good condition. It is unbelievable how well these big bike handle. Low center of gravity and tons of power. Needs another gear for sure. Also went out and split a little wood, no pictures, sorry. Thanks again for all the advice.
It is...that's why they call them "sport bikes with bags"...and yes they do need another gear...the 1500's did too I always felt. Congrats on a day gone well!
