Probably 3 months out here unless we have cold set in early it is usually after Halloween before I worry about a fire. Even then I like to run the NG boiler a bit to make sure it is doing fine for the deep freeze.
Like most, guessing 3 months yet. Need to get off my butt and call Woodstock about a cat and door gaskets.
Yes you should! They are south of me and anyone buying stoves or replacement parts will be doing it soon. Then they'll be up to their ears in work!
Geez Backwoods, summer just got here and you're trying to chase it away already? I was still lighting a fire in early June and have no desire yet to even think about it.
Heard a locust one evening last week, old wives tale says that means frost in 6 weeks. I’m hoping that the wife can get by till late October without a fire. I guess I never paid attention to a start date. I think this will be my 4th, maybe 5th year of wood burning full time for heat
I don't even wanna think about lighting up right now. Today my wife and I went for a motorcycle ride and it was sweltering. Felt like riding in front of a huge hair dryer. Although I do hate this extreme heat, I'm no where near ready for the woodstove.
...wow....we are at least 10 wks out. Sitting in the cool shade of the big locust, feeling the 92F breeze blowing up from the creek...… started talking about getting wood. Funny how that works. Going to go full in on Bad Axe wood again this year. Scrounge what I can wherever. I'm still on the 6+ year, all covered plan. Life is good.
Considered going for a ride yesterday. Looked at my riding jacket and then the thermometer and decided swimming was a better choice.
We probly won't start burning till October sometime. Anytime it wants to stop going above 75 it can but I'm not ready for winter cold yet.
10-12 weeks away here. Usually October 1-15. Just finished moving this year’s wood under the deck by the basement door and stacking the rest in a more open spot. Will be awhile before I use it as it’s supposed to hit 92 today.
I "LIKE" hearing that!!!! There have been years here, we've walked around in T-shirts and shorts past Thanksgiving!
