How many here are sick of leave's?

Leaves on the driveway are bad news when you try to snow throw the first time.

 

Been raking 'em up for the garden.
One goodly sized Maple near the drive, so if I don't rake, the GT cuts 'em and pushes 'em to the drive where the car finishes the job.
Gravel drive and I live in the woods, so no need for real pretty. My wife thinks they should be left on the lawn as mulch, but doesn't realize they need to be chopped up first.
Leaving them will end up killing the grass.
The White pines are the worst. I have some pretty large ones in the side yard and that side used to get mowed and pushed back into the woodline. I don't do it much anymore.....waste of gas and energy (mine).
I've been taking care of lawns and such for about 50 years and don't get too worked up about it anymore. It's nature and there's a reason for them.
I try to take advantage and use them when I can.
Tons of 'em in the woods paths, that I may get to. Maybe next year.

 

I can't get at my pine needles, but if they fell on the lawn, I would be gathering them up to put on plants as mulch once the ground is frozen. They are also excellent around other plants as mulch as they don't compact as leaves to. This maintains the insulation value. Pull them back in the spring so the ground can warm, then put back during the summer to hold the moisture contend and restrict weed growth.

I live in the middle of 15 acres of woods I have already spent a total of 9 hours blowing leaves and let me tell you what I loathe them!!! I'm not even done with the leaf blowing as half of my trees still have leaves on them. One year they all pretty much came down in one big storm at one time and I could only blow about 5-10 feet of them before the pile was so big I couldn't blow any more and I have a BIG commercial backpack blower which is about as good as you can get.

 

Jay these are leaves ,that wind row is 350 ft long and notice that the Sycamores still have a chit load on them at this time of year we have back pack blower shoulder syndrome we do this 2-3 times a week ,like your neighbor got to keep this place immaculate 1st pic holy chit still a ton of leaves to go
