Welcome to the forum Cold Trigger Finger

You speak of freeze-up and we haven't even had a freeze yet. Really late this year and nothing in sight yet.

Our high on Sunday is going to be in the low 40's. Then, back to 50'-60's for a few days.

Lucky you. It just doesn't seem to want to cool off much here. We hit 70 again yesterday.

Oh ya , we get up in the 90s in the summer sometimes. Normally I would have started wearing them a few weeks earlier but where I work now I wear issued coveralls.
Looks like freezeup might be this coming week. We'll see.

It's starting to warm up down here now and I have only been having small fires at night these past few weeks. Today was nice and warm so no fire tonight. It Will be the first night in about 6 months that I have not had a fire at night.

Looking at the forecast I don't think I will be lighting another fire until the weekend.

As all you blokes up in the northern hemisphere are getting your stoves ready for winter I will be getting my air conditioner ready for summer.

Chooch chooch. Nibbling on some pine. High today was 50, down to 29 overnight, then 50 again tomorrow. Still 66 inside, but it's a good time to get the water hot before it gets much lower.

I lit one this evening, but as a break in fire. House was warm enough to avoid the need, but I wanted to start burning the stink out of it.

Yep. Me too. Going down to 36° tonight and I don't want to crawl out of a warm bed into cold air.

First fire, 59° but windy cold. Perfect for a fire. Lazy flames and probably a half load left until I reload for the night. Expecting rain by wee hours of morning.

I just happened to see the weather forecast for tonight, decided against letting the stove go cold. I just reloaded with some pine.

Finally gave in Friday night & Saturday. Wet windy & in the 50's. Touched her off for the first fire. Another small one last nite, & tonight. Burning a little Pine & Sassafras. It'll be on & off for the next month I'd think before the "real" season stats.

Only having a fire in the morning most days. Got a little fire going today but I won't add any more wood. Temps are heading to around 70 with lots of sun. I will get another fire going in the morning to take the chill off.

Temp dropped to 37 last night. Burned cherry and misc. uglies for the first fire of the season. Will have another fire tonight then overnight lows stay in in the upper 40's with highs in the upper 60's.
