The OWB still stands idle and waiting for it's heavy duty job...but the cottage stove has been lit off a number of times already!

Right where I want to be.
I mentioned in one thread or another that I've already had fire.....I think about 3........back in August. :hair:
What can I say, it got a little chilly and I wanted fire.
Normal is starting about 3rd week of Sept, but we haven't had one for quite a while now and don't expect to for a few more days. Fine with me........for now.
    Winter is coming.

I had my first fire yesterday morning. Two loads of 3 pine splits each. The first load was so punky that it had the look and weight of sponges

Need a not yet. Pending or like my wood stove, its a lady-in-waiting. That's bad, keeping a lady waiting.

For the first time ever I've had a fire every single month this year so far.
I kid you not. This has been an unusually cool and wet year here.

Yesterday was my first burn of the year. Tonight will be my second. Then it's gonna warm up again.

Saturday night we had a big party at my parent’s house, so there was a fire in the pit. This morning at work, I found the guys had lit the stove in the shop (wimps—can’t handle cool mornings!). Tonight I have my first fire in my woodstove (wimp) I probably would have had a fire sooner, but I’ve been staying at my girlfriend’s.
    I wish I was in @bogeydave land.

28 degrees here this morning. One of the pasture water lines had enough ice to catch (lines aren't buried). Three or four small fires so far, with one tonight just because I can.

First fire tonight. Glad to be back. Nice to work outside and not be thinking about the impending heat stroke:). About to warm again but nothing too far above 70.
