    RI Dan We have a genset as well and we need it for the same thing you do. Gives one a good feeling you can still have water, heat and keep your food OK during a power outage.

    I just lit my fire an hour ago, 30 overnight and it was still all frosty then on the ground, vehicles, and roof. So, it is burning time from now till April.

    On my way home tonight from work and all I smell is fire wood burning in the air, even tho it's still close to 70 degrees now.
    So I had dinner with the Bride and then asked the boys if they want the fireplace on line. And of course they said yes.
    First fire of the season for me.

    We lost power in Maine Sunday until Thursday, so I was running the wood stove every night. It hit 28F one night.
