    I have no problem with the computer in the room, I track where she has been on the internet and thats not bad stuff. Food has been forbidden in the rooms ........ well you know how that worked for me :hair::hair:

    As usual, to me the biggest question would be, "Did you learn anything from this?" A bit of punishment would also be in order but nothing extreme. If the child does not yet realize the value of a dollar, this would be one great way of introducing her to it.

    I wouldn't buy a laptop from Best Buy. Much better to buy from an online vendor like Newegg or Tiger Direct.

    Lesson Learned...Sometimes learning to admit your mistakes is the hardest lesson. Part of growing up...Nows the time to explain to her why its important to come clean right away, but nothing will take away the love that you have for her....:thumbs:

    My recommendation if you choose to replace is look at TigerDirect.com and set a lower price range in the search field. No more than $300 will get you a laptop that performs just fine. I buy them for work and have spent as little as $150 and gotten a refurb model that works just fine. Don't spend $450 again, and it won't hurt so bad.

    I bought an Asus referb laptop 15" screen for $300 from Tiger Direct, great machine, 3 or 4 years old now.
    Got a good price on a 1 terabyte network hard drive at Newegg

    TigerDirect has been around quite a while......... At least since I started building my own machines back in the mid-90's.
    Gooder prices.
    I agree that she needs to know that you don't like what she did, but you love her no matter what.
    I wouldn't be happy and she wouldn't get a new one right away, but she'd still get plenty of hugs........after I cooled down.:thumbs:
